I have a happy announcement to make! Birthday event in Travelers Planet!!

one of our guest Lingling, met her birthday yesterday here at Travelers Planet Hostel.

We didn't know until yesterday moriing when her friend told me that it is her birthday, that they are going to buy cake and stuff!

Later afternoon before Lingling and their friends came back to the hostel,
Evy and I prepared a little something for Lingling.

Haha Evy was in a hurry to make that decoration so she wasn't fully satisfied but I cheered her up haha. that she did a very good job! :)

Later we heard that Lingling was very happy about it, and we were happy to hear about it too! :)

Hello guys!

Rice cake skewer is one of the top snacks that is popular within Korea among kids! :)

Well, Traveling makes us all kidful right ~

Hope you ALL enjoyed eating it and those who are watching this out there! Try this at home!

*Ingredients*

red pepper paste (gochujang)

ketchup

oligosaccharide

sugar

soy sauce

rice cake

skewer

*Directions*

1. get the rice cake soaked in water to make it softer
2. mix all the sauce in the ingredients above, gochujang, oligosaccharide, sugar, soy sauce, and ketchup.
3. skewer the rice cake.
4. toast the rice cake until it gets a bit golden :)
5. put the sauce over the rice cake.

Mr. and Mrs. Kobayashi.(Travelers Planet Hostel Guesthouse, Hongdae, Seoul, Korea)

Hi guys, this is JAY from #Seoul.

We've got gift from Mr. and Mrs. Kobayashi who are from #Tokyo.

They already visited #TravelersPlanet three times including this time.

There were only Sachio here because his wife Kiyomi was sick in that time.

That's why we were so glad to see them two.

They stayed very well again.

Yesterday, the day before check out, I gave them a #postcard which was written by me.

And they left an awesome #roll_cake for us in the morning.

Hiii there Travelers! 

Weekend Cooking is back again on Sunday morning!

As we told you last week, today our breakfast staff Selly made

'Green Pumpkin Pancake' (Ho-bak-jeon) !

Ingredients

green pumpkin, cooking oil, salt, egg

Method

1. Trim and wash the pumpkin.

2. slice the pumpkins

3. sprinkle salt on the pumpkins

4. dredge the pumpkins through the egg wash covering both sides.

5. When the fan gets heated put the pumpkins

6. Flip it to other side.

In my experience, eat the Jeon before it get’s cold. You eat it right after it’s cooked. Let’s eat together~ :)

next time we are going to cook Rice Cake Skewer!!

Every Korean have tasted this when they were kids. such a popular snack among kids!

They are from #Tainan which is one of big cities of #Taiwan.

In Tainan, #dried_fruit is famous as they mentioned.

These nice women gave us dried #mango and #papaya.

Evy and me just tasted it. It was so good!

I asked if he is a painter or some kind when I met at the rooftop

and then Raymond, guy with the long hair said they are Fashion Designing Students From Beijing, China.

,said he just draw sometimes when he wants too.

and look what he's gave us. AWESOME PIC!

they became good friend with our morning staff Selly and he drew a picture for her of herself!

He didn't have the photo to draw with so he only used his imagination for this Haha

I said "if you say this is Selly, then it is Selly." the caring mind is the most important thing, right? :)

Weekend Cooking 78th at Travelers Planet Hostel

Hello this is Travelers Planet and the Weekend Cooking is back again. 

Ingredients!

eggs

cucumber

oyster sauce

cooking oil

sesame and sesame oil

chili pepper (optional)

Directions!!

beat in the egg at a bowl and stir it!

and ready the frypan with cooking oil and make a scrambled egg!

and then it's time for the cucumber.

first slice the cucumber in a round shape or a half moon shape,

and then fry the cucumber, here if you want you can add green onion or chili pepper!

when it's fried, you can add the scrambled egg and the oyster sauce together

and fry a bit more! 

and the stir-fried egg cucumber is completed!!!

and it is "Teacher's Day" in Korea!

Today let's celebrate teachers and send kind love and respect to those who raised you up

as who you are now.

I found a quote about teacher by Confucius

"A true teacher is one who, keeping the past alive, is also ableto understand the present."

Teachers are our mentors, friends, etc. Not quite parents but still they raise us up to be a best person, and their lessons last a lifetime.

The date was chosen to commemorate the birth of Sejong the Great, the fourth king of Joseon-dynasty in Korea. Sejong supported literature and encouraged officials and scholars to study and King Sejong is also known for creating of korean language of hangul.

Awesome railroad forest park of Hongdae area(Travelers Planet Hostel Guesthouse, Seoul, Korea)

Hey guys~ it's JAY again.

I have something to let you know.

There is on a construction around #Travelers_Planet.

There was a #railroad_tracks before.

#Seoul_city made a dicision to make a #railroad_forest_park here.

As I saw, the contructing was at the peak just a few weeks ago.

But when I was coming here to work today, it was almost done before I knew it.

I've never imagined that road changed this beautiful!

Seoul city will make this park as a 2nd #Garosu-gil_road of #Sinsa which is the hottest place in Seoul.

I don't really want the park to be changed like commercial place.

The park can give me a fresh relaxing now.

And I cant' believe that this kind of park is just beside of #Hongdae area.

Come and have some #fresh_air!!

Today's Weekend Cooking menu is riceballs.

Do you know what the riceball is?

This is really easy and tasty food.

You can put any ingredient just what you want.

Only one thing you have to keep is mix that with rice by hand then make it balls to feed easily.

Then, let's see how to make 'riceballs' in this time?

*Ingredients

Sesame Oil

Soy sauce

Salt

Mayonnaise

Rice

Seaweed

 Canned tuna

Pickled Radish
Ham

*Directions

Mix all of those ingredients and make it small ball shape.

And eat one ball for one bite!

Parent's Day in Korea (Travelers Planet Hostel, Hongdae, Seoul, South Korea)

Hello this is Johnny!

Do you know there is 'Parent's Day' in Korea?

Instead of having usual 'Mother's Day' or 'Father's Day' in other countries,

in Korea, we have 'Parent's Day' and it is 8th of May! Today!

What do we do sons and daughters do at Parent's Day,

we give carnation flowers to our parents usually to pay our respect and thanking them for raising us.

However, it doesn't have to be a carnation flower at all. Any gift that shows your love to them is good, or I can say

who cares for presents! 'I Love You', 'Thank You' words that truly comes out from your heart.

Isn't that what all parents truly want? :)

So I hope you had said that exact word today to your parents~

Even if it's not parent's day in your country, there's no harm doing it!

Hi, this is JAY.

Today was a reaxled day comparely.

It beacause the holiday is over may be.

But unfortunately, Evy wasn't.

She has got so much task today so had to work overtime.

She didn't even have enough time to have lunch and dinner.

That's why I treated a #pizza for Evy!

There is a fantastic pizza shop near #TravelersPlanet.

The name is #Travel_and_Art. Yes, all we are #Travelers.

The pizza we had tonight is 'Barcelona shrimp&spicy chicken pizza'.

Pretty long name huh?

It was so good.

We shared the pizza with Jason and Mark who are from #Austalia.

I couldn't take a picture that we having pizza together.

But Evy and I were happy that we felt like share #enjoyment!
