Weekend Cooking 92nd at Travelers Planet Hostel(Travelers Planet Hostel Guesthouse, Hongdae, Seoul, Korea)

Today in the morning, we cook Jajang rice for our guests!

Jajang rice or Jajang myun is a popular Korean-style Chinese dish.

As you can watch in the video, Jajang is black sauce made by Chunjang.

Many Koreans eat Jajang rice and Jajang myun often. And you can easily enjoy it in your home or office!

*Ingredient

powder of Jajang, Onion, Carrot, Potato, Garlic, Pork, Pepper

*Directions

1. Chop all ingredient(Potato, Onion, Carrot, Pork)

2. Put the pepper to the pork for seasoning

3. Smash up garlic and fry with oil, then put 1)Onion 2)Carrot 3)Potato 4)Pork to the pan

4. Pour the water, powder of Jajang and boil it

5. When Jajang bubbles up, reduce the fire and boil more.

Fresh vegetables from Winnie! (Travelers Planet Hostel Guesthouse, Hongdae, Seoul, Korea)

Have you seen these size of Cucumber and Watermelon!?

Today, one of our guests, Winnie went to Gochang to experience the farm, and took very long cucumber, small cute watermelon, big Korean melon and zucchini with normal size and shape!

Actually when I measure this cucumber with a ruler, It is almost 36cm! haha  

Winnie gave us zucchini for weekend cooking tomorrow.

Weekend Cooking 90th at Travelers Planet Hostel (Travelers Planet Hostel Guesthouse, Hongdae, Seoul, Korea)

If you check our video about weekend cooking every weekend, you have already recognized that we like to cook Jeon with various ingredient. 

This morning, we cooked pan-fried shrimp zucchini. Zucchini was from our guest, Winnie! She took it at the farm by herself. It feels more delicious, crunchy and savory with fresh ingredient haha.

*Ingredients

 Zucchini, Onion, Pepper, flour, (egg), salt, oil

*Directions

1. Slice the Zucchini.

2. Slice onion and Chungyang Red Pepper(Korean style spicy chili)

3. Crush the dried prawn

4. Mix all ingredients you prepared

5. Season with some salt to taste 

6. Oil the Frying pan and cook it!

We cook Kimchi fried rice in this morning! 

It is one of my favorite Korean dishes. 

If you like Kimchi, I'll bet you will like this :)

*Ingredients

Kimchi, rice, ham, onion(or spring onion), egg, oil

*Directions

1. Chop the Kimchi, ham and onion(or spring onion) as you want & cook rice 

2. Fry chopped Kimchi first

3. Add the ham and onion and fry together with Kimchi

4. When the ingredients are fried and cooked, put cooked rice

5. Make the fried egg and decorate on the Kimchi fried rice

Hello, friends! 

Have you ever seen white and cold noodles in summer season? 

We cook that white and cold noodles named cold bean-soup noodles(Kong-guk-su in Korean)  this weekend!

Korean enjoy cold bean-soup noodles in this hot season! 

Literally, it is made by ground bean and noodles, and we put ice to make it cooler. 

Try the delicacy of this season :) 

*Ingredients

bean, noodles, salt or suger, cucumber or tomato(only when you want to put)

*Directions

1. Make the cold bean soup by grinding the bean with little water

2. Boil the noodles and make it cooler

3. Put the noodles and cold bean soup in the bowl

4. Season with some salt or sugar to taste

5. According to your preference, put sliced cucumber or tomato

I have a happy announcement to make! Birthday event in Travelers Planet!!

one of our guest Lingling, met her birthday yesterday here at Travelers Planet Hostel.

We didn't know until yesterday moriing when her friend told me that it is her birthday, that they are going to buy cake and stuff!

Later afternoon before Lingling and their friends came back to the hostel,
Evy and I prepared a little something for Lingling.

Haha Evy was in a hurry to make that decoration so she wasn't fully satisfied but I cheered her up haha. that she did a very good job! :)

Hello this is Travelers Planet and the Weekend Cooking is back again. 

Ingredients!

eggs

cucumber

oyster sauce

cooking oil

sesame and sesame oil

chili pepper (optional)

Directions!!

beat in the egg at a bowl and stir it!

and ready the frypan with cooking oil and make a scrambled egg!

and then it's time for the cucumber.

first slice the cucumber in a round shape or a half moon shape,

and then fry the cucumber, here if you want you can add green onion or chili pepper!

when it's fried, you can add the scrambled egg and the oyster sauce together

and fry a bit more! 

and the stir-fried egg cucumber is completed!!!

I couldn't say there are lot of huge park-enjoying culture here in Seoul,

but if you just want to enjoy that kind of culture, you can have it!

and I know that you could use your time to go on adventure to more of those famous toursites, but still, think about relaxing just like you're part of a seoul citizen :))

and for now, “Seoul, a Blooming Flower” Campaign is on at

Seoul Grand Park~<3, botanical gardens,  indoors and outdoors they are exhibiting those beautiful spring flowers of all kind!

You can check the details on the site,

but in a short version I can tell.

If you want to smell the scent of spring here in Seoul City

go there.

Also they have a zoo there! probably the only zoo in Seoul,

and playground for kids, so families! your kids are going to love there!

The park's entrance fee is extremely cheap (about 2$ per person) so you won't have to worry about that~

These women are definitely heavy users of#LeeNo_group .

The two girls, from #Hongkong , stayed twice at Studio 41st and also twice at #Travelers_Planet .

(Studio 41st is not a member of LeeNo group anymore though.)

They love our guesthouse and Korea. Had a#Korean_fried_chicken yesterday.

That is indispensable course of travel in Korea.

Hi, guys~

Today, weekend cooking menu is #Buchujeon :)

'jeon' is like a Korean pancake.

Korean love jeon. There are a lot of kinds of jeon.

Buchujeon is very easy to cook among them.

Of course it is tasty too.

The important thing when you cook it, you should make it crunchy.

If you don't cook it properly, it would be just bad dough with buchu.

Be careful.

Then, why don't we start?

Not many ingredients is necessary.

Here we go!

*Ingredients

Buchu

Onion

Flour(Korean pancake mix)

Water

Salt

Pepper

- sauce -

Soy sauce

Sesame

Vinegar

Pepper powder(optional)

*Directions

Mix the ingredients properly.

fry it as thin as you can.(thickness decides how cruchy it is.)

Dip a piece in the sauce.

Eat it!

I googled it some more and I found that in #Bali, #Indonesia there is this traditional dance called #BarongDance!

haha I think this t-shirt is perfect for summer!

as you may know this t-shirt is from Bali,

so it is super thin and it is made perfectly for the weather of Bali XD. Summer in Korea is coming tho, so we'll just have to wait and see if this t-shirt could fit in Korea ~

Those are Indonesian traditional pattern.

It called ‪#‎Batik‬ 

Batik is a technique of wax-resist dyeing applied to whole cloth, or cloth made using this technique. Batik is made either by drawing dots and lines of the resist with a spouted tool called a canting

Even, those includes different meanings each pattern!
