"You are here" cafe near Travelers Planet Hostel!!

Today I'm going to recommend you an awesome place!

All you Korean fans might have heard of

'You are here' Cafe??? or ' Eat Your Kimchi' Youtube channel? :)

It's the cafe this Eat your kimchi person Simon and Martina owns!

I've visited there weeks ago and I'm quite surprised of the 

quality of the food and drinks there!!

and I've been waiting long to recommend you this place to our 

guests :))

this is the club sandwich and Croque-monsieur I've tried here and posted on my instagram XD

and what is best is that it's very very close to Travelers Planet Hostel!!! :)

Episod 1.정情(Jeong)

Jeong is difficult to define. One Korean-English dictionary defines it 

as “feeling, love, sentiment, affection, sympathy, heart.” 

Although it is complicated to address a clear definition of Jeong, 

it seems to include all of the above as well as more basic feelings, 

such as attachment, bond, affection, or even bondage.

It is quite difficult to explain even us 

so I think if you suddenly feel roughly what Jeong is like  while you travel in Korea 

then actually you could say "I experienced Korean culture properly!". ;)

but i guess it still might be ambiguity for you.

So I will give you the best tip that you can experience Jeong through.

Go to Korean traditional markets!

Kwang-jang ,market, Pyounghwa market, 

Nam-dae-mun market and so on. 

People will welcome you like family <3

or maybe just come to Travelers Planet hostel. haha

Weekend Cooking 57th at Travelers Planet Hostel

This is 57th weekend cooking time!!

We made "Bean Sprout Soup” for our guests at Travelers Planet Hostel Common area which is 4th floor!!!

Let me tell you how to make it :)

* Ingrdients
- 3 cups soybean sprouts, washed and if desired, roots trimmed
- 6 cups water or broth
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 Tbsp soy sauce
- 1 Tbsp sesame oil
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 scallion or bunch of chives (optional garnish)
- 1 Tbsp Korean red pepper powder (kochukaru) (optional)

*Directions*
1. In a medium-sized pot, saute garlic in soy sauce and sesame oil over medium heat for 2-3 minutes.
2. Add water and bean sprouts and bring to a boil over high heat.
3. Reduce to low heat and simmer for 25-30 minutes, or until you can smell the strong odor of bean sprouts cooking.
4. If you're making the spicy version, add the red pepper powder 5 minutes before turning off the heat.
5. If you're using scallions or chives to garnish, add to the pot at the end and then immediately take off heat.

Weekend Cooking 51st at Travelers Planet Hostel

Weekend cooking is back! ;)

We made Buchu Jeon for our guests 

at Travelers Planet Hostel Common area which is 4th floor!!!

Let me tell you how to make it!!

** Ingredients **

Buchu (scallions),  Korean pancake mix (or flour with egg), Water, 

Soy sauce, Sesame oil, regular oil

1. Pour some water to Korean pancake mix and make it like watery.

If you don't have Korean pancake mix, you can use flour and put an egg in it.

2. Chop Buchu as much as you want and put into no.1

3. Put some oil on a pan and make Buchu Jeon.

4. For the sauce, only needs Soy sauce and little bit of sesame oil.

5. Enjoy Buchu Jeon!!
