We all #staffs including cleaning staffs went to mess at #Samgyupsal restaurant.

You know Samgyupsal is #Korean popular #barbeque.

Look at the biscuit fired pork meat. Look so tasty!

This is first time to get all staffs together.

Samgyupsal couldn't be better, All staffs had so much fun.

It was really exciting night!

We've got a handmade present from lovely guest!(Travelers Planet Hostel Guesthouse, Hongdae, Seoul, Korea)

As I posted last week, the old couple used to accommodate 'homestay' for #Korean_students.

They checked out today after went tour for the students all over Korea.

And they gave us that knitted.... pot stand? support? prop? trivet? anyway something cute.

We love that and even have been using right after got it.

She replied back with this picture by our greeting e-mail.

This picture is including Soy Sauce Marinated Crab, Korean Sausage and Rice Soup, Samgyupsal.

Those are some of best #Korean_foods.

Charlotte and her husband tried many Korean foods for just 2 days.

Kimchi-Jjigae for all of you out there! Try this next time! (Travelers Planet Hostel Guesthouse, Hongdae, Seoul, Korea)

Hello this is ‪#‎TravelersPlanet‬ ‪#‎Hostel‬ !

I've recommended lot of #koreanfoods to guests in the past 4months and now I think I'm getting the hang of what would people want to taste or like! :) So I'm makiing one now!!

Have you ever heard of #김치찌개(#Kimchi_Jji_gae)?? you all know kimchi but kimchi-jjigae must be new!

It is unpopular for tourists, I'd say it's very local. not much introduced to foreigners so to speak.

It's kind of a '#Kimchi Stew with Pork', and as you can see in the photo, it can be quite hot but if you have tried kimchi and was well, Kimchi Jjigae won't be a problem at all. you can enjoy this as much as any other koreans! :)

I know you guys mostly want to figure out what that famous fried chickens and korean barbecues taste like~or more fancy looking foods for instagram! XD

but I also know you would also want to try this #local_korean_food we koreans dig!!!

and one more tip for lovers of alcohol, it goes great with #soju~!

if you taste this once, you'll literally drool over this pics for the rest of your life! haha >_<

Hi, Everyone! 

This is Ji, a night manager in Travelers planet hostel.

Since I work here I've met a lot people who love traveling like crazy!

It is awesome to meet them as I'm a huge travel enthusiasts!haha

When I was traveling I always tried to see the real life of the countries and people. 

As you guys know, however, it's actually quite difficult to know about that through tour guide books or internet surfing or somting like that but at least we have local friends and spend time with them for long!

Two good news from Chinese guests.[Hostel in Hongdae, Seoul, Korea]

Hi, everyone!

We have two good news from a guest group from China.

First,

they got bottles in our on-going bottle event 

as they shared their cool photos at Travelers planet hostel on their SNS. 

Thank you so much for that, girls. That's awesome! 

Second,

they gave us presents Nanjing Olympic mascot "Lele" key holders. 

It's so cute and meaningful.

They explained about how the character earned the name. 

Nanjing is a city famous for stone in China. 

砳砳 is "Lele" in Chinese character. One 石 means stone 

so two stones together literally mean they make sounds crushing each other.
Furthermore, the letters has another meaning "Happiness".

Mmm, I think I like the idea a lot!

Living alone is pretty lonely and quite. 

More than two people Getting together could make sound 

talking, laughing, kissing and so on and happiness may come from that! ;)

20150221 weekend cooking 66th Travelers Planet Hostel.[Hostel in Hongdae, Seoul, Korea]

Hi! This is Ji.

How's your weekend going?

This weekend, we cooked #Ddukguk 

at Travelers planet #hostel in #Hongdae, #Seoul, #Korea.

It was so meaningful to cook this traditional dish 

with our guests in Korean new year time ♥ 

Watch this video and try it yourself!

*Ingredient

Korean duk (flat oval rice cakes)

broth (beef, anchovy, or chicken)

Soup soy sauce and pepper

egg (fried and sliced into thin strips)

Dried seaweed sheets (cut into thin slices)

spring onion(chopped for optional garnish)

*Direction

Soak rice cakes in cold water for about 20 minutes.

Bring broth to a boil.

Season to taste with soup soy sauce and black pepper.

Add rice cakes and simmer until tender, about 10 minutes.

Ladle into individual bowls and then add egg and seaweed strips and scallions.

Gurye Sansuyu Festival in Jirisan Mountain in Korea

Its short name is Mattang and it is a particularly popular kid's snack in Korea.

When my mum made this dish as a side dish for dinner,I used to eat this only and I didn't touch any rice or other side dishes.
