82nd Weekend Cooking at Travelers Planet Hostel Guesthouse in Hongdae Seoul Korea

Hello! this time we are representing you to

#Ddeokbokki! or #Tteokbokki~!!

It's a spicy rice cake~

Our kind guests have participated in making the video haha! Thank You!

It looks so delcious , I'm drooling while posting this!

*Ingredients

Rice cake

Fish cake

Red pepper paste

Soy sauce

garlic

sugar or oligosaccharide

*Recipe

1. Soak the rice cake in water

2. slice the fish cake in pieces

3. mix red pepper paste, soy sauce, etc to make the seasoning for the Ddeok-bok-ki

4. dissolve the seasoning in water and boil it with the rice cake at a shallow pan or a pot.

5. when the rice cake turns soft, put the fish cake and boil bit more until it's cooked well.

20150207 weekend cooking 64th Travelers Planet Hostel [Hostel in Hongdae, Seoul, Korea]

Hello, guys.

Last weekend, We cooked candied sweet potato(Matang) with our guest 

at Travelers Planet Hostel, in Hongdae,Seoul,Korea.

We appreciated that our guests loved this cooking a lot! 

I want to recommend you to try this for tonight ;) 

It will make your night sweeter.<3

* Ingredient

sweet potato

vegetable oil

sugar

black sesame seeds

* Direction

Wash the sweet potatoes, peel the skin and cut them into small chunks. 

Soak them in cold water for 30 mins to reduce the starch.

Drain the water and lightly wipe off the moisture with kitchen paper.

Put the sweet potatoes and enough vegetable oil into a pot.

Boil the pot on high heat until the sweet potato is golden and crisp (for 5 to 10 mins).

Take out the fried sweet potatoes 

and put them onto kitchen paper to soak the excess oil.

Put the sugar in a pan and melt it on medium heat. Once the melted sugar starts to boil, reduce the heat to medium to low.

Add the sweet potatoes into the wok and mix with the sauce well (for 2-3 mins).

Serve the sweet potato on a plate.

Sprinkle black sesame seeds over the top.

Happy Chuseok~~~

Chuseok (추석) is the biggest and most important holiday in Korea. Family members from near and far come together to share food and stories and to give thanks to their ancestors for the abundant harvest. Chuseok Day falls on September 19 in 2013, but the holiday is observed for a total of three days (September 18 – 20). Fortunately, this year’s Chuseok holidays fall from Wednesday through Friday, giving making it a five-day holiday in total. Many Koreans will visit the homes of their families to spend quality time together. The holidays provide a good opportunity to enjoy traditional cultural experiences.
